Question 1

What can I search for with Findaroo?

Accepted Answer

Findaroo searches social media and the open web in one go — jobs and work, lost pets, lost property such as phones, wallets and bank cards, events, groups and communities, people, marketplace listings and business leads.

Question 2

Which platforms does Findaroo scan?

Accepted Answer

Findaroo scans Facebook, Reddit, Discord, Telegram, LinkedIn, Meetup, Nextdoor, Instagram and X (Twitter), plus the wider open web. You can pick which platforms each search uses with the platform filters.

Question 3

Do I need a Facebook or social media API key?

Accepted Answer

No. Findaroo uses web crawling rather than platform APIs, so you do not need a Facebook, Reddit or Twitter developer account to run a search.

Question 4

Can I search near my location?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Use the location button to detect your town, region and country automatically, or type them in yourself to narrow results to a specific area.

Question 5

How do saved search alerts work?

Accepted Answer

Save any search and choose how often it rescans — hourly, daily or weekly. When new matches appear you get an in-app alert, an email, or both, with duplicates filtered out automatically.

Question 6

Can I get one daily summary instead of lots of alerts?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Turn on digest mode in Settings and Findaroo bundles the day's matches across all your saved searches into a single in-app and email summary.

Question 7

Will scheduled runs use my local time?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Set your timezone in Settings and every scheduled rescan triggers at the expected local time.

Question 8

What happens if an alert email fails to send?

Accepted Answer

Findaroo retries automatically with an increasing delay between attempts. Every attempt, result count and error is recorded in the run history for each saved search.

Question 9

Do I need to set up email to use alerts?

Accepted Answer

No. In-app alerts work out of the box. Email delivery is optional and you can send a test email from Settings to confirm it is working.

Question 10

How do I cut down on irrelevant matches?

Accepted Answer

Use the advanced query builder to require exact phrases, exclude terms, set a language and cap the number of results per run. You can also limit each search to the platforms that matter to you.

Question 11

Will the same result get saved twice?

Accepted Answer

No. Findaroo deduplicates matches across rescans, so a result you have already seen will not be re-saved or clutter your folders.

Question 12

Can I organise results I want to keep?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Save any individual result into a folder, add notes, and share it using the built-in share menu.

Question 13

How do I report a lost or found item?

Accepted Answer

Use the report form to submit a lost or found phone, wallet, bank card, pet or other item, including photos that help identify it.

Question 14

Who can see my contact details?

Accepted Answer

Contact details you submit are never shown publicly. Approved reports are displayed with sensitive contact information redacted, and photos are only visible once a report is approved.

Question 15

How long does approval take?

Accepted Answer

Reports go into a moderation queue and are reviewed before being published. You get an in-app notification and email as soon as your report is approved or rejected.

Question 16

Is Findaroo free to use?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every search, saved search, alert and the business lead finder are completely free right now. There are no plans, no trials and no card details needed.

Question 17

Will you start charging?

Accepted Answer

Not for now. If we ever introduce paid features we will say so clearly in advance, and nothing will be charged without you choosing it.

Question 18

Do I still need an account?

Accepted Answer

You can search without an account. Sign up free if you want to save searches, get alerts or use the lead inbox.
