Privacy & Cookie Policy
Last updated 14 August 2026. Findaroo is operated from the United Kingdom and follows UK GDPR. Review this with your own legal adviser before launch.
What we collect
- Account data: email address and sign-in identifiers.
- App data you create: saved searches, folders, saved results, lead notes, alert history and crawler settings.
- Lost & found submissions: item details, approximate location, photos and the contact details you choose to provide.
- Billing data: subscription status and identifiers from Stripe (never card numbers).
- Technical data: log entries and basic usage counts needed to run the service.
How we use it
To run your searches and scheduled alerts, deliver in-app and email notifications, enforce plan limits, moderate lost & found posts, take payment, and keep the service secure. Our lawful bases are contract performance, legitimate interests (security and service improvement) and consent for optional analytics cookies.
Who sees your data
Your saved searches, folders, leads and alert history are private to your account. Approved lost & found posts are visible to signed-in members with contact email, phone number and identifying details withheld — only you and our moderators can see those fields.
We share data with processors that run the product: our hosting and database provider, Firecrawl (search crawling), Stripe (payments) and our email delivery provider (notify.findaroo.live). We never sell personal data.
Cookies
Essential cookies and local storage keep you signed in and remember your cookie choice — these are always on because the app cannot work without them. Optional analytics cookies help us understand which features are used; they are only set if you choose "Accept all" in the cookie banner. You can change your mind by clearing site data in your browser, which brings the banner back.
Retention
Account and app data are kept while your account is open and deleted within 30 days of account closure. Alert history is trimmed automatically. Billing records are kept for six years as required by UK tax law.
Your rights
You can access, correct, export or delete your data, object to processing, or withdraw consent at any time. Lost & found reports can be deleted from the report page, and report data can be exported to CSV. For anything else email privacy@findaroo.live. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office.
